BBC 6 Music And Hype Machine Music Blog Zeitgeist: 2013 So Far

Last night on Now Playing @6Music we were asked along with a number of other blogs for their under hyped artists of 2013 which you can find here – http://hypem.com/events/zeitgeist-underhyped-bbc6/

Here we are (below) on the show talking about our pick Findlay, why Findlay ? Well blog have picked up on her but we just thought more blogs would have got on board.  But to be completely honest she’s doing pretty well under her own head of steam.

Disclosure was revealed as the most blogged artist in the world this year during a special BBC 6 Music  Half Year Music Blog Zeitgeist in collaboration with Hype Machine presented by Tom Robinson.

Guy Laurence – one half of the No. 1 production duo – explained how they don’t really read blogs as they scare them and if it wasn’t for one blogger they wouldn’t exist.

Here is the full interview –

Dev from Hype Machine, Ed Sholl from Future Classic and Thomas Coxhead from The House of Coxhead all talked about the importance of blogs in helping new music in the ever-changing musical landscape. Not everybody agreed on twitter, some thought blogs were irrelevant, others quite liked them.  Of course  bloggers can get praise an abuse in equal measure, our chums over at Breaking More Waves got told to “go w**k yourself with a bar of soap” (Check the comments ). Which is dirty and yet clean at the same time.

You can listen to the whole show again here – http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b036kzjp

And the full list is: ( and we’ve only blogged about three of them which means we are unzeitgeisty ? or live in a bubble ? Who knows but there’s enough room for wide and varied taste within the blogosphere so we won’t worry ;)
