Las Robertas are a lo-fi garage trio from San José, Costa Rica. It says on their bandcamp page that they are in fact purveyors of ” distorted lo-fi garage girly sound,” but that their new album ‘Days Unmade’ “shows a more powerful aggressive side. “
The trio consisting of Fabrizio Durán, Mercedes Oller, and Sonya Carmona are about to have the aforementioned album released by the wonderful Burger Records tomorrow (2nd July 2015) on tape.
And today’s second track of the day is plucked from that very album. Inside and Out mixes a satisfying gutter-grime guitar sound, propulsive percussion and luminescent new wave girl group harmonies which at times sounds a little like Lush taking on The Ramones. Which of course is by definition is a very good thing indeed.
