We’ve been caught up in the abject shambles that was the Hope And Glory festival in Liverpool over the last few days, an object lesson in how NOT to run a music festival. And how not to use social media.
The week before we were at a proper festival, a festival which ran like a well-oiled clock in a fabulous location with a great line up. Yes, Kendal Calling is held annually at Lowther Deer Park in the Lake District, Cumbria and, like the Blue Dot festival was a text book lesson in how a festival should be run , yeah there was mud but this is the UK!! Unlike the Hope and Glory Festival, which will now replace “the Titanic” in the local lexicon when describing utter disasters, Kendal Calling started small and built its reputation by being ace, by getting things right and by giving a shit.
