Ahead of her about-to-sell-out UK tour commencing, Lucy Dacus capped off the remarkable US leg of the tour last night with a performance of her new single, ‘Kissing Lessons’ on Late Night With Seth Meyers. Dacus powered through the pain of a double herniated disc throughout the tour where she heroically performed every show from a couch. A highlight on this memorable run was having Dacus’ dad join the band in New Jersey for a live cover of Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Dancing in the Dark’.
Dacus’ UK tour kicks off March 18 in Leeds and culminates March 27 in Brighton. The Kentish Town Forum date in London on March 25 is the latest to sell out from the singer’s eagerly awaited first UK performances since 2018. Dacus was also announced for BBC 6 Music Festival in Cardiff. A full list of upcoming dates can be found below.
The last couple of weeks have seen Dacus’ staple song ‘Night Shift’, taken from her 2018 album Historian, enjoying a moment on TikTok. Watch videos inspired by the song HERE.
Dacus’ latest single ‘Kissing Lessons’ is “a two-minute pop-punk reminiscence of being in second grade and learning to kiss from a girl who was a year older, sharing childish thoughts about what grown-up romance would be: a fond, brief, revelatory interlude” (The New York Times). The song was recently released as a standalone single following last year’s Home Video. For the Seth Meyers performance, Dacus was joined by her regular band of Jacob Blizard (lead guitar), Ricardo Lagomasino (drums), and Sarah Goldstone (keys, background vocal), plus Christian Carpenter (bass guitar). This was Dacus’ second time performing on Seth Meyers following a late-night debut with boygenius in 2018.
