gglum Unveils New Single “Eating Rust” from Debut Album “The Garden Dream”
London-based singer-songwriter Ella Smoker, known by her stage name gglum, releases a new single that highlights her innate ability to capture wistful emotion quite beautifully. “Eating Rust,” comes from her upcoming debut album “The Garden Dream,” which is due out March 29th on Secretly Canadian.
Intimate and atmospheric “Eating Rust” proves that subtlely rather than overwrought emotion is the way to craft an understated breakup anthem and imbue it with real power.
It’s from her debut album, “The Garden Dream,” which is out 29th March on Secretly Canadian as Smoker reveals ” It “was the first song I made while writing the album that felt like it summed up the album’s sound for me,” explains Smoker, “It’s all about a period of my life where I was desperate for one person’s love and approval which I would never get (yet i’d keep on trying anyway). It’s about what inspired the dream that inspired the album.”
