I first wrote about MISS GRIT, the New York-based, Korean-American musician Margaret Sohn (they/she), back in early 2021.
She’s recently announced the debut album Follow the Cyborg, out 24 February 2023 on Mute – and the title track arrives with an accompanying video. Once again, Sohn crafts experimental, sometimes minimal, electronic music that builds into something raw, emotional and explosive.
The self-produced debut, Follow the Cyborg, was recorded entirely in their home studio, and mostly in solitude with several guest collaborators joining – Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint, Aron Kobayashi Ritch of Momma, and Pearla.
