swim school : Don’t Leave Me Behind

Edinburgh’s swim school (lower case) are back with another new track, ‘Don’t Leave Me Behind’, which is less heavy in terms of sound than their previous releases but just as satisfying. To be honest, the guitars do let rip a fair bit while Alice Johnson conjures up a wistful sense of yearning on yet another sparkling track from the trio. They’ve recently supported the Pixies and Lovejoy, and ‘Don’t Leave Me Behind’ is the latest to be taken from their forthcoming second EP, Duality, due on May 25th via LAB Records.

Don’t Leave Me Behind’ is the emotion you feel when you meet someone you have a genuine connection with, but don’t quite know where you stand with them.”  explains Alice. “You think they feel the same as you, but you aren’t sure and your mind can’t stop thinking about them. We wanted to write our own version of those cheesy, early 90’s love songs. The harsh guitar tones and soft lyrics resemble the strong ups and downs you experience in that unknown place.”
