Isle of Wight 4 piece Coach Party return with a new single “Weird Me Out” which fizzes with effervescent energy and flips feelings of lingering self-doubt into an anthem of defiance. It’s from the band’s forthcoming 3rd EP ‘Nothing Is Real’ which is released 29th April (as opposed to Bleach Labs Ep “Nothing Feels Real”. )
It’s a great example of a band expanding and polishing their sound but losing none of the visceral energy that made them such an exciting proposition in the first place.
Speaking about ‘Weird Me Out’, frontwoman Jess Eastwood says: “If you take standards as set by the media too seriously, which is easily done, you end up with a very unrealistic idea of what a relationship should look like. ‘Weird Me Out’ is about the desire to change someone (or yourself) to fit that image you have of a perfect relationship, but also stepping back and remembering to stop comparing yourself to manufactured ideals, and put yourself on a well-deserved pedestal.”
