Here’s some beautiful hazy popgaze from Manchester-based four-piece Crush with their new single ‘Bckwards 36.’ Amber Warren’s ethereal vocals don’t sound a million miles away from Rose Elinor Dougall’s, which obviously by definition is a very good thing. It beautifully juxtaposes Warren’s calming euphonic vocal with that classic disorientating shoegazey sense of wooziness much beloved by MBV before they decided they wanted to make people’s ears bleed and embraced sonic annihilation.
Crush have recently supported the likes of bdrmm, NewDad and Far Caspian. They head out on their own headline tour this month. Dates below.
